Start with a single piece of poetry or prose to draw closer to Su Dongpo. Read his poems, ci, essays, and fu; trace the chapters and itinerary of his life; and examine his calligraphy and paintings in detail. Keep your favorite works, reading progress, and notes in your personal study.

Read a poem or essay, and come to know an entire life.

*The Dongpo Diary* is a portable book about Su Shi. It brings together his poems, ci, essays, and fu, his lifelong chronology, and the places he visited: from one work to the circumstances surrounding it, and back again to the next piece of writing.

[Today]
Read one piece every day, accompanied by introductory guidance and landscape painting screens, allowing you to continue where you left off. The “Past Moments” feature lets you browse the chronological records according to the lunar calendar; if there is no entry for that exact day, read the record from the nearest date.

[Life]
From Meishan to Huangzhou, then to Huizhou and Danzhou, and finally to Changzhou. Eight chapters of life weave together his works, experiences, and historical context. Maps and the chronological record offer different entry points for reading; interactions with key figures are explained separately. Chapter introductions and classical texts are presented independently.

[Poetry and Prose]
Read Su Shi’s shi poetry, ci lyrics, essays, and fu, browsing by genre or searching by title and text. You can switch between horizontal, vertical, and simplified/traditional character displays. Themed collections such as “Calm Amidst Storms” and “Whose Moonlight Does It Shine On?” connect mutually resonant pieces for reading. The original text preserves variant readings and alternate characters from the source editions, while the introductory guidance helps readers understand the background of each work.

[Study]
Save pieces, note where you stopped reading, and jot down brief reflections. You can begin reading without linking a mobile phone number; account features allow you to sync your saved items, progress, and notes to your personal account. Calligraphy, paintings, and classical texts have separate access points. Image plates such as *Hanshi Tie (Cold Food Observance)*, *Former Ode on the Red Cliff*, and *Wood and Stone* include museum cataloging information, image sources, and viewing tips.

[Tracing Footsteps]
Begin by searching from a line of poetry, a city, an old friend, or a particular year. Works, locations, people, and years provide different clues, placing familiar verses back into their lived contexts.

“I ask about my life’s achievements: Huangzhou, Huizhou, Danzhou.” May what you find in reading not only be his poetry, but also the person who wrote it.
