The third eye is located in a sacred place: Hindus usually paint it red to show respect. In fact, its activation site is between the eyebrows, which is the position of the third eye. It is not part of the body but is considered part of the energy system. Ajna is described as a transparent lotus with two white petals, which are said to represent the psychic channels leading to Ida and Pingala, and they meet the central Sushumna nadi before reaching the crown chakra Sahasrara.
